MUDDY CARZ REVIEW
2025
My second Chadwick’s Car Show today, so at least I knew what to expect this time around. I came a little earlier this year since last year there were already quite a few cars on the lot when I arrived around 7:30 a.m. I pulled in a little before 7:00 a.m. this time — and to my surprise, that was too early. I was the first one on the lot, but cars started rolling in before I even finished setting up, so I guess it wasn’t that early after all.
This year was a little lighter on total cars, but I heard a few veteran show guys mention there was another event happening the same day. Oh well — the show must go on. The food was the same as last year: burgers and dogs delivered by golf cart from the restaurant. I decided to eat indoors at the bar and honestly, even if it was the same food, it tasted better inside with the AC.
Eventually it was time for the part of the show where I sit back and clap for all the winners again. Top 50 + specialty trophies don’t take long to get through. Trophy presentations are under the big top (registration tent), and people pack in tight. Somewhere around the Top 45, I heard what sounded like my name. They got the first name right, but the last name? Not a chance. It stumps nearly everyone who tries.
And that’s a wrap for 2025’s Chadwick’s Annual Car Show benefiting Toys for Tots.
See ya next year!
MUDDY CARZ REVIEW
2024
This will be my first Chadwick’s car show. This show is literally right down the hill from where I live, so an early arrival was easy. I arrived at the show about 7:30 am, and there were quite a few cars already parked, with more pulling in behind me. After I got parked and set up, I went to register with my new, unwrapped toy. While there, I got to talk to one of the organizers and thank him for supporting the Marine Corps Toys for Tots campaign.
This show was spectacular and huge! They had the paved lot filled, and the front yard held almost as many cars. I think I was able to make a complete trip around the show. The food was delivered from Chadwick’s restaurant to the registration tent, or you could walk to the bar and order there. Either way, the food was much better than food trucks and roach coaches. Spectators were plentiful, since the restaurant/bar/golf club drew their own crowd.
Trophy time! They had one of the most awesome trophies I’ve seen as a car show noob. You vets may have plenty of these, but it’s still a nice design for such a large show. They did have a few door prizes, but no raffles that I recall. In the end, this is one must-attend show, and I hope to win one day since it’s in my backyard.
